Let’s GoFundMe a Photocopier for Boma Mbuzi Secondary

Updated: 2 days ago

We need your help - Our 2026 goal for Boma Mbuzi is to fund a photocopier for teachers’ classroom use. Why a $1,500 photocopier can change education outcomes in Tanzania.

The desperately sad truth about Government Schools in Tanzania, is the lack of Government funded resources.

But in reality, teachers do an incredible job, given what they have to work with!  Blackboards and chalk!

Of course, class sets of mostly outdated textbooks are provided. The problem being, the “class sets” don’t seem to match class sizes of around 80 students!

Teachers make notes on blackboards. Students copy those notes, and essentially that is the learning process. Pass or fail, is determined by the student’s ability to copy from the blackboard, understand what they have copied, and memorise the information.

Reality, only 30% of children who commence government primary school, complete their secondary level.

Our vision at One Love Tanzania has always been, and will always be, to improve that education outcome reality in Tanzania.

Our work at Boma Mbuzi Secondary School in Kaloleni, Moshi, Kilimanjaro, is igniting a new wave of enthusiasm for teachers and students. Teachers are, for the first time, seeing the positive impact of better teaching methods. Students are finding joy in learning, and results are already improving.

Our workshops, academic awards and sporting equipment donations from Year 12 students at Cranbourne Secondary College, are small, but positive endorsements that we respect Principal Mr Titus and his staff, and their eagerness to make results matter at Boma Mbuzi.

Their commitment to give their students from abjectly poor backgrounds, the best possible shot at a brighter future.

Raising Funds for a Much-Needed Photocopier

Our 2026 goal for Boma Mbuzi is to fund a photocopier for teachers’ classroom use. A valuable resource which will enhance education opportunities manyfold for staff and students.

Of course, blackboards will remain the primary classroom tool, but back up notes, worksheets, revision notes and tasks, practice exams and, the best bit, award certificates, all have the potential to become part of the everyday learning scene at this great school striving to be the best it can be for its students.

Cost for an appropriate photocopier is approximately $1500 AUD, to be purchased in country, a great way to support the local economy.

In order to raise the necessary funds, we have established a GoFundMe Page, where funds can be donated by those who also believe education outcomes can be improved with consistent teamwork.

Thanks to the Cranbourne Secondary College

So far, Cranbourne Secondary College students have dedicated $250 raised from their fundraising for students less fortunate in Tanzania, but we still have long way to go to achieve their goal.

Help send the message to students at Cranbourne Secondary College and Boma Mbuzi, that we value their dedication to making the world a better place, and join our GoFundMe campaign if you can.

EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!

If you can provide a small donation via the GoFundMe Page, it would be extremely helpful to achieve our goal and making the children's education at Boma Mbuzi that much easier....

With grateful thanks....
