Which Children?
Broken homes, family breakdowns, unplanned pregnancies and child abuse bring abandoned, vulnerable children to every street corner in Tanzania.
OneLoveTanzania.com believes no child asks to be born - impact through better education is a goal of compassion and commitment from both sponsors and children.
We work to identify children with not only the need for education, but with potential, vision and a support network to reinforce the passion to succeed. Our children come from many backgrounds, but all have one thing in common, they deserve better. Finding that “better” is our mission.

School Placement
Many factors determine the schools our children attend.
Some of our children by necessity attend government schools, where class sizes are often unmanageable, teaching methods out dated and discipline emotionally detrimental – usually caning or beating.
In striving to determine the best opportunity for each student, OneLoveTanzania.com supports the notion that better education opens the pathway to a more conscientious adulthood.
We source schools which offer broader curriculums, reinforce positivity, respect Tanzanian culture, offer student support and most often, where teaching English is a priority. Usually, privately owned schools.

Academic Costs and Payments
Despite the introduction of a “Free” Education Mandate by the Tanzanian Government, the real cost to enable a child to attend school is $300 Aud per year.
Little by our standards, but crippling and unsustainable for most, especially where lack of family planning brings “God’s gifts”, children, regularly and without an endowment.
Non Government Education delivers more, but asks more. Primary school fees up to $2450 Aud per year and secondary boarding $1850 Aud, paid directly to school bank accounts pre term.
All basics are covered, materials, regular tuition and school meals.
Additional Costs
Text books, replacement of lost/stolen school uniform, or even medical expenses may be considered at our discretion.

For boarding students, toiletries, personal needs, soap powder, are essential.
Pocket money to cover day to day school materials and foods such as fruit not provided on the school menu all available on site with a view to building budgeting skills.
None of our children have access to mobile phones, but it’s certainly a future consideration.
Compassionate Care & Guidance
Connecting with our sponsored students, understanding their background and meeting with them where possible is a large part of the hands on role OneLoveTanzania.com plays in these children’s lives.

No child’s life is without doubts or insecurities and all children grow though care and guidance.
We endeavour to be present in our children’s lives and even when we are unable to visit or share time together, we are connecting where we can through guardians, family network, or correspondence. It’s all about the kids.
