EDUCATION IS KEY
"A Country Without Education, Is A Country without A Future."

OUR STORY.
One Love Tanzania is an Australian based organisation working on the ground in Tanzania, to transform lives through improving Education outcomes for Teachers and Children.
Volunteering in Tanzania in 2012, aroused compassion for the country, its culture, and its people. People who, sadly, are caught in a cycle of intergenerational poverty and need our help.
One Love Tanzania partners with NGO’s, Children’s Centres for vulnerable children, and Schools in the country to influence positive change in education practices. Changes which encourage personal development, creative learning, but, above all, respect for children.

Karibu Tanzania.
Welcome to Tanzania.
Visitor or Volunteer, its impossible not to be captivated by the endless natural beauty of this East African country. Impossible not to be charmed by the endearing locals, ever ready to welcome you into their simple lives and proudly share with you, their timeless culture. Truly, life changing experiences.
As a volunteer in 2012, I WAS captivated. I WAS charmed, and most certainly, my life WAS changed. Thirteen years on, and 20 visits later, I am still captivated, I am still charmed, and most certainly my life IS changed. Richer, more purposeful, and incredibly thankful, in the knowledge I have been able to bring hope, and meaningful change to so many children who deserve so much more than their country delivers
Kids In Tanzania
Children today continue to be impacted, even in 2025, by challenging cultural and environmental factors. Poor nutrition, family break down, gender discrimination, unplanned pregnancies, cultural expectations, unmanaged health issues, and of course, overwhelming poverty. But the greatest challenge of all, an inadequate education system.
Education in Tanzania
A dysfunctional, under resourced system, where teachers are tasked with delivering an out of touch syllabus in shamefully overcrowded classrooms. A system where children who fail to perform, are caned by the educators, to teach them, an “A” grade is the only path to education success there.
A system where creativity, personal development, or citizenship are neither fostered, nor celebrated.
A system still closed to gender equality, where girls need to push boundaries to prove they are worthy.
A system with an overwhelming drop out rate where less than 30% of students complete secondary education with a satisfactory pass.
Transforming Lives
It’s about putting a smile on a child’s face. It’s about bringing hope.
But most of all, it’s about working beyond the Government system to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty, strengthen communities, and build social justice.
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others”
